Bizarre and Pleasing Russian Drinks
One thing that I really admire about Russians is their being bizarre. They always have their way of standing out from the rest of the world, which establishes their existence and culture. This trait is reflected in their delightful chows, especially in their traditional drinks. It is believed that almost all the popular beverages of Russians are original and are not found in other countries' chows. Example of these bizarre and pleasing drinks are medok, sbiten, cabbage juice, and mors.
Medok is a very aged booze, which is composed of water and little amounts of hops and honey. It is often mistaken as stavlenniy myod, another popular booze in Rus. However, if you are mindful with these two beverages, you can surely differentiate one from the other. On the other hand, sbiten, a hot winter booze, is made of honey combined with peps and water. It is one of the boozes in the country that is pretty easy to mix. My prized Russian booze is boiled cabbage juice, which is added with some sugar to somehow neutralize its very sour taste. Unlike the other boozes, the cabbage juice should be consumed immediately after it was prepared because it spoils soon.
